Lady Hawks Pick Up Big Regional Win Over Clinton CC

MVCC Women's Soccer

The MVCC Lady Hawks used a big second half to score a 4-2 victory over Clinton Community College on Saturday in Utica.

Clinton found the net first as Ellen Thue scored just over nine minutes into the game. MV's Joelle Ceneviva took a pass from Bria Wilson and buried the first of her two goals nearly 7 minutes later to tie the game 1-1.  Both teams battled back and forth before Thue scored her second goal of the contest at the 36 minute mark and the Cougars took a 2-1 lead into the locker room.

Early in the second half Alexandra Stant set up Sydney Cook as she scored her 13th goal of the season to tie the game 2-2.  Wilson then threaded the needle for Rose Simmons who gave the Hawks a 3-2 lead in the 74th minute.  Ceneviva put the game out of reach with an unassisted goal at the 84 minute mark as the Hawks improved to 4-6 on the season.

Ondraya Kunai finished with 3 saves for MVCC.
