The #4 nationally ranked Mohawk Valley Men's Soccer team extended their unbeaten streak to 5 on Saturday afternoon versus Jamestown Community College. Cheikh Abdoullah Niasse was the first to find the back of the net for the hawks off a service from Romaine Watkis in the 21st minute of the game. Niasse struck again five minutes later to put the Hawks up 2-0 off an assist from Ousman Jallow. The Hawks would head into halftime up 2-0 while holding a 17-2 shot advantage with 8-1 advantage on net. It took the Hawks only 2:57 seconds into the second half when Ousman Jallow found his first tally of the day putting the Hawks up 3-0. With less than 10 minutes remaining in the second half, Jallow would find his second notch of the day off an assist from Romaine Watkis. Aleksandr Kachanovic recorded the shutout for the Hawks in his first career start while recording 3 saves. Jamestown goalkeeper Jakob Moore would finish the game with 6 saves.
The Hawks would finish the game with a 27-4 advantage in shots with a 10-3 advantage on net. The Hawks would also finish with a 15-1 edge in corner kicks. MVCC has outscored their first 5 opponents 19-1. The Hawks return to action on Wednesday afternoon when they travel to Finger Lakes Community College for a 4:00pm kickoff.
