The Mohawk Valley Women's Basketball team extended their winning streak to five games with an 86-58 win over visiting Tompkins-Cortland CC on Saturday. The Hawks had balanced scoring all over the floor, and had four players score in double figures led by sophomore Jasmine Michaux's 25 points. Lyrik' Jackson added 21 points including 11-11 from the free throw line. Joining Michaux and Jackson were Olivia Wakin who had 12 points and Jane Fahy putting in 11 of her own. Abby Brown had a career high nine points making three 3-pointers in her second game of the season.
The Hawks pushed the pace of the game and scored a lot of baskets in transition which helped extend their lead throughout the contest. Mohawk Valley is now 5-1 on the season, and will return to the court after the Thanksgiving break next Wednesday at 6:00pm as SUNY Broome will visit Mohawk Valley coming in with a record 1-7.
