Belmin Hrnjicic led the Hawks offense with 2 goals as MVCC opened their season with a gritty 4-3 win over Niagara CCC.

MV jumped out to a 2-0 lead before the Timberwolves scored two goals 24 seconds apart midway through the first half as the teams headed to the locker room tied up.

The Hawks scored two more second half goals to take a 4-2 lead and held off a late score from Niagara for the win.

MVCC travels to Erie on Sunday.
