Mohawk Valley Community College put together an impressive offensive performance but came up just short in a 100–94 loss to Genesee Community College on Sunday afternoon at Mohawk Valley.

The Hawks shot an efficient 52.9 percent from the field and knocked down 10 three-pointers at a 47.6 percent clip, keeping pace in a fast-paced, high-scoring contest. Mohawk Valley trailed by just two points at halftime and continued to trade baskets throughout the second half before Genesee pulled away late.

Darnell Childs delivered a standout performance, pouring in a game-high 37 points while shooting 12-of-21 from the floor and 7-of-10 from beyond the arc. Childs also contributed eight rebounds and eight assists, shouldering the offensive load and keeping the Hawks within striking distance throughout the game.

Jaeshaun Felder added 15 points and five rebounds, while Kevion Cummings provided a strong spark off the bench with 14 points on 7-of-13 shooting. Donald Grant Jr. chipped in 12 points and five assists, helping facilitate the Hawks' offense.

Mohawk Valley finished with 20 assists on 37 made field goals, highlighting strong ball movement and offensive flow. Despite the efficient shooting night, the Hawks were unable to overcome Genesee's scoring depth, as the visitors reached triple digits.

The Hawks return to action when they host SUNY Adirondack on Wednesday, January 21st.
