In a competitive four-quarter matchup Sunday afternoon in Utica, Fulton-Montgomery Community College pulled away late to defeat Mohawk Valley Community College 62–57.

The teams battled evenly in the opening quarter, deadlocked at 12–12. Fulton-Montgomery gradually built momentum in the second quarter to take a narrow halftime edge. After Mohawk Valley trimmed the gap in the fourth, a strong closing stretch by the visitors sealed the outcome.

Mohawk Valley was paced by Shayla Baker, who recorded a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds. Takyla Vaughn added 19 points and 13 rebounds, giving the Hawks a strong presence in the paint throughout the contest. Felise Fowler chipped in 11 points, including three three-pointers, while Tiara Smith added six points and two steals.

The Hawks close out the regular season when they travel to Hudson Valley Community College on Wednesday evening.
