The stage is set for postseason basketball as Mohawk Valley Community College has earned the No. 3 seed in the NJCAA Region III Championships and will open tournament play against No. 6 seeded Herkimer College on Friday, February 27 at 3:00 PM. The matchup will be hosted by Genesee Community College.

The Hawks and Generals split their regular season meetings, setting the stage for a rubber match with a trip deeper into the regional bracket on the line. With familiarity on both sides and postseason intensity in play, Friday's contest promises to deliver high-level competition. The opening round match up marks a rematch of the 2025 Region III Championship which also ended up being the 2025 NJCAA Division III National Championship match. 

Tournament Schedule – Friday, February 27

• 1:00 PM – #2 Genesee vs. #7 Tompkins Cortland

• 3:00 PM – #3 Mohawk Valley vs. # 6 Herkimer

• 5:30 PM – #8 Hudson Valley/Finger Lakes Winner vs. #1 North Country

• 7:30 PM – #4 Onondaga vs. #5 Adirondack

The winners of each game will move on to the semi-finals on Saturday, February 28th. The winners of the 1PM/3PM games will paly at 1PM on Saturday while the winner of the 5:30PM/7:30PM games will play at 3PM on Saturday.
