Hawks Sweep Finger Lakes

The Mohawk Valley Community College Hawks softball team earned a pair of decisive wins on Sunday, April 12 at Accelerate Sports in a doubleheader against Finger Lakes Community College.


Game 1: MVCC 14, Finger Lakes 6

Mohawk Valley Community College produced a strong offensive performance in a 14–6 victory over Finger Lakes Community College.

The Hawks scored early and used a 10-run fourth inning to take control of the game. The lineup generated 14 hits and drew multiple walks, applying consistent pressure throughout the contest.

Key performances included Paige Morrone, who went 4-for-5 with seven runs batted in, including a home run and two doubles. Scout Ludwig also contributed a home run and two RBI. Emma Kraszewski added a strong all-around effort, driving in two runs with a pair of doubles while also pitching six innings to earn the win.

Isabella Kleban scored three runs and reached base multiple times, while Kendal Borden added a triple and scored three runs in the victory.


Game 2: MVCC 11, Finger Lakes 1

The Hawks completed the sweep with an 11–1 win in game two, using early offense and strong pitching to secure the result.

Mohawk Valley again controlled the game from the start, building an early lead and maintaining momentum throughout.

Isabella Kleban led the offense with three runs batted in. Scout Ludwig also drove in three runs, while Kaylee Beam added two hits and one RBI. Paige Morrone continued her strong day with another multi-hit performance.

On the mound, Alyssa Peart delivered a complete-game effort, allowing five hits and one run while striking out eight batters.


Series Summary

Across both games, Mohawk Valley Community College combined for 25 runs and 24 hits in a doubleheader sweep. The Hawks showed balance in both offense and pitching, with multiple players contributing across the lineup and in the circle.
