The MVCC Men's Basketball team defeated Rockland Community College 100-61 on Saturday to win the 2017 Torchia Classic.

The Hawks took a 37-26 lead into the locker room behind another balanced scoring effort.  

Marquis Gilbert led MVCC with 27 points and Rian Carter added 18 more. Carter added three 3-pointers and Gilbert finished the game with four buckets beyond the arc.  Crumpler Hagins, William Gilbert and  Creig Goldson also finished the game with double figure scoring. 

Rian Carter was named tourney MVP and Gilbert was named to the All Tournament team.
