Mohawk Valley CC Women's Basketball Dominates Finger Lakes Community College, 77-32

The Mohawk Valley Community College Women's Basketball team delivered an impressive performance this week, defeating Finger Lakes Community College 77-32. The Hawks' defense set the tone early, stifling the Finger Lakes offense and jumping out to a 17-6 lead in the first quarter. From there, the Hawks never looked back, cruising to a commanding victory.

The first half saw a dominant display from the Hawks, who ended the period with a 40-9 lead. The stingy defense and fast-paced offense left Finger Lakes with little room to generate offense. Mohawk Valley's balanced scoring attack was led by sophomore guard Nataya McGee, who finished with 18 points and 7 rebounds. Fellow sophomore Tiara Smith added 16 points and 6 rebounds, while freshman Jani Washington contributed 14 points to round out the double-digit scorers for the Hawks.

With the victory, the Hawks improve to a 10-6 overall record and 5-1 in the Mountain Valley Conference.

The Hawks will be back in action this weekend for a doubleheader at home. On Saturday, they will face Onondaga at 2:00 PM, followed by a Sunday matchup against Jefferson at 2:00 PM. Both games will take place at the Jorgenson Athletic Center on the MVCC campus.
