The MVCC Lady Hawks picked up their first victory of the season, 8-1, at Herkimer College.

MV, which hasn't fielded a team in the past two years, won five of six singles matches and all three doubles matches as Coach St. Croix won his first tennis match.

Singles:

Ella Brutsky defeated Kirin Kubayashi 6-0, 6-1

Stephanie Calhoun defeated Jordan Mercer 6-2, 6-4

Nicole Dawson lost to Dani Engert 6-3, 6-3

Cheyenne Smith defeated Guihua Gan 6-3, 6-2

Tina Le defeated Meghan Whitmoyer 6-0, 6-1

MVCC won 6th singles by forfeit

Doubles:

Brutsky/Dawson defeated Kubayashi 8-5

Clark/Le defeated Gan/Whitmoyer 8-5

MVCC wins 3rd doubles by forfeit

MVCC hosts Onondaga at the MVCC Tennis Courts at 4pm on Thursday.
